About Us
The Lillie M Sawyer Teacher Scholarship Trust Fund was established to provide financial awards to students pursuing higher education with the intent to become a Teacher/Educator. Mrs. Lillie M. Sawyer was a dedicated educator who taught in the DC Public Schools for many years and served as a Sunday School teacher at the Mount Airy Baptist Church. Mrs. Sawyer loved the profession of teaching and wanted to help young people who want to enter that field.
